1.1 Current and Voltage (contd.)
In addition to its amplitude V, there are other ways to
characterize the magnitude of a sine wave or other signal.
It can be specified by its peak-to-peak Vp-p, which is twice
the amplitude or its root-mean-square Vrms
which, for a sine wave, is 1 over root 2 of the amplitude. (The r.m.s. will be
different for other waveforms).
